Horse Training

I am excited to get going on this new project of writing on a blog!  Unfortunately my sister and I are going to Arizona to see our brother.  I’m told his health isn’t doing well and we are going to see what is going on and look at options he might have besides living alone. I am leaving my horses for 8 days.  Not only them, my dogs also.  I have never been gone from them for that amount of time!  My heart is sick; yet I feel I have got to do this trip.  Family is important.  I love my animals, but have to keep priorities straight. What’s on your mind?

I have had Brego for 6 years.  It has been quite a different experience than when I had my first horse as a teenager.   I grew up with Amoreena.  She was 11 months old and I was about 14 years.  There was an assurance of youth; that I could do this raising and training of a young horse.  Knowledge was limited to me so I didn’t have to sort through a lot of material to make sure I was doing it the “right” way.  Never heard of natural horsemanship then.  I just treated her as my friend.  Another very important fact was that I had no fear.  I never knew about all the things that could go wrong.  I never expected anything to go wrong.   When Amoreena was riding age, my sister got a horse too.  I would take Amoreena out by herself at...
