a Christmas season
This ordinarily would be a joyous time of year. But with the events that happened in Sandy Hook….there is a blanket of doom and gloom over it. How could it not be!? There are no words that I can say now, but I was glad to hear that Dr. Phil went to Ct. to try and provide emotional help and support. There are so many people rushing to help now, of that I can be sure! But damn…it never should have happened…let’s make sure we especially hug and treasure each and every family member this season.

I rode Brego in the Afton Christmas Parade last night. I had the help of Robynne from Happy Trails club. She gave me decorating ideas and some stuff to put on him! I wish my husband was able to take pictures! Unfortunately, my digital camera is full. Shame on me, I should have cleaned it out beforehand! I will make sure to do it now! Her horse, George, was awesome, and it helped Brego to be calmer and I think he did awesome! There was a lot of stimulation, sounds, dark, the lights, the noise..but we survived and Brego really seemed to enjoy himself! He has not seen our trailer in a few months, but loaded like a champ! I am so tired now, gotta go to work…but happy!

I am excited to get going on this new project of writing on a blog! Unfortunately my sister and I are going to Arizona to see our brother. I’m told his health isn’t doing well and we are going to see what is going on and look at options he might have besides living alone. I am leaving my horses for 8 days. Not only them, my dogs also. I have never been gone from them for that amount of time! My heart is sick; yet I feel I have got to do this trip. Family is important. I love my animals, but have to keep priorities straight. Yesterday was wonderful! My sister-in-law, her husband, their daughter and granddaughter were over. Amily is 5 and wanted to ride a horse. I put her on Brego. Her mom and I took turns leading her around. He...

There was an assurance of youth; that I could do this raising and training of a young horse. Knowledge was limited to me so I didn’t have to sort through a lot of material to make sure I was doing it the “right” way. Never heard of natural horsemanship then. I just treated her as my friend. Another very important fact was that I had no fear. I never knew about all the things that could go wrong. I never expected anything to go wrong. When Amoreena was riding age, my sister got a horse too. I would take Amoreena out by herself at...
